Our air pricing is structured into 4 – 6 key components, tailored to meet specific service requirements:

Air Pricing Components

Air Travel Consultation

This base fee covers our comprehensive service in researching, preparing, and scheduling your pet’s relocation from start to finish. It does not include your pet’s airline ticket, travel crate, or any other associated travel costs.

Airfare & Ticket Purchase Fee

The primary determinant of pricing is usually your pet’s weight inside their crate. As your pet’s size and weight increase, so does the cost of airfare. Pricing structures can vary between airlines.

Airport Transportation

We collaborate with a global network of pet travel experts to ensure secure and smooth transportation to and from airports worldwide, for both domestic and international journeys. Our services include door-to-door options, priced based on locations within an hour of the airport.

A one-time $75 Handling fee applies per city for arranging boarding, crate purchase, customs clearance, transportation, or vet services. No fee is charged if these services are not needed.

Pet Travel Packet

The Pet Travel Packet includes physical copies of your pet’s travel documents, crate tags, stickers, and a special gift for your pet. You will also receive a customized electronic Pet Travel Packet that will be emailed to you before your pet’s flight.

 

Vet Packet

The Vet Packet comprises essential documents required for your pet’s international travel. This includes a pre-filled health certificate, application forms, pre-paid FedEx mailing to and from the USDA, and a money order for USDA endorsement

Customs Clearance

Pets arriving on international flights must undergo customs clearance, which involves ensuring they have the correct paperwork for entry. This process typically takes 1-4 hours and includes collecting and submitting paperwork for final approval at the customs office, followed by coordinating with the airline cargo facility for pet release. Airlines may also charge a release fee for pets picked up from international flights.

Ground Travel

Happy Tails Travel provides an alternative to air travel with our comprehensive pet ground transportation services.

Our ground pricing is based on two main components:

Ground Pricing Components

Ground Travel Consultation

This base fee covers our dedicated time researching, preparing, and coordinating your pet’s entire relocation process. It includes collaboration with our trusted drivers to ensure safe and comfortable ground transportation for your pet. Please note, this fee does not include the cost of transportation itself, which is calculated based on mileage, nor any additional services required.

Ground Transport

The cost of your pet’s transport is primarily based on mileage and/or timing and includes all expenses such as driver’s time, fuel, vehicle maintenance, and amenities like private door-to-door transportation in heated/air-conditioned vehicles. Our service also includes communication updates from the driver, regular comfort stops, overnight stays in pet-friendly accommodations if necessary, medication administration if needed, and personalized care including feeding and attending to your pet’s belongings.

Payment Methods

PayPal, American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check or money order. Service does not commence until Travel Consultation fee is collected/paid.

Refund Policy

Air Travel

If you cancel within 24 hours of submitting your signed contract, we will refund your Air Travel Consultant fee minus a $150 administration fee.

No refunds will be issued more than 24 hours after submitting your signed contract or for rush services. In the event that circumstances prevent the planned shipment of your pet, or if you have a change of plans or change of mind after 24 hours, our service agreement will remain active for six months from the date of receiving your signed contract.

Ground Travel

If you choose to cancel within 24 hours of submitting your signed contract, we will refund your initial payment fee minus a $150 administration fee, provided that a driver has not yet been assigned or is en route.

No refunds will be issued after 24 hours of receiving your signed contract or once a driver has been assigned. In the event that circumstances prevent the planned shipment of your pet after this period, our service agreement will be extended for six months from the date of receiving your signed contract
